Look what appeared in my INBOX...

I received a wonderful email the other day from a bride's aunt in Michigan. She was so impressed with my work that she emailed the bride to tell her about it. Sarah, the bride, forwarded the email to me and it was so encouraging that I just had to share it with you all. I LOVE MY JOB!

Amazing Wedding Album

I just received an amazing wedding album that I ordered for my friends Sarah and Darryn. It is a parent album for the groom's parents and they decided to order it a few weeks ago. This is an 8x8 Matted Album with a linen cover. I am so impressed by this album and I can't wait for them to see it. I am shipping it out today. All my albums are by Queensberry. They are hand-crafted with quality materials. Queensberry is out of New Zealand and they are the best when it comes to wedding albums and customer service. I also love talking to them on the phone because they have such great accents in New Zealand.

Colorado

I just returned from a few days of fun in Colorado. I love Colorado so much! Just the amazing creation of God's hands all around you is so peaceful and it makes you forget about how chaotic life is. I went with my friends Denise and Cory who are also photographers. We had such a great time shooting, laughing and hanging out. We went to Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, and Rocky Mountain National Park just to name a few places. Here are some of the photos from the trip. I will be posting more later along with the wedding that I shot with Denise and Cory in Garden City, Kansas.

Sarah and Jamie Lundy Wedding

Here is a slideshow of Sarah and Jamie Lundy's wedding that I created with ShowIt from the awesome David Jay. Their wedding was on August 4th. I posted a teaser photo for this wedding earlier. Now you get to see a full slideshow of 60+ images and it is worth watching because the photos turned out so amazing! They were a great couple and the location of the wedding was fabulous, Longview Mansion. Thank you so much Sarah and Jamie for letting me be your photographer. Enjoy the slideshow and let me know what you think!

KU Endowment Marketing Photoshoot

I did a shoot with my friend John Jordan of Jordan Photography last week at KU Endowment. John asked me to do the photoshoot but he came along to assist me.KU Endowment is located in Kansas City and they raise private funds for Kansas University. This shoot was great cause it allowed me to breakout some of my old photography tricks that I never get to use with my wedding and portrait photography. They were looking for a nice marketing photo that showed the experience of being in the KU medical labs. We showed up and didn't know what kind of space or time we had to work with. Come to find out we were in a very compact lab with about 30 minutes for this shoot. I setup a blue gel on one of my Calumet 750 monolights to get the background to go blue and give it a nice cool feel. I then used my Canon 550EX to light the subject in the foreground. I positioned this flash so that it wouldn't spill onto the blue background and I added a large panel diffuser to soften the light. We got some great shots right away and good thing we did because they were actually working on a real lab project in the photo and ran out of work 15 minutes after we started shooting. They looked at me and said they don't have anything else to do so I said "Well, I guess we're done. Good thing we got the shot!"
