I'm still here!

So this week has been absolutely crazy! My hard drive crashed on my computer and I have not been able to edit photos or post any blogs for almost a week. I do have a back-up computer but it doesn't have everything on it so I don't like to use it. I was told that it would take one day to get my computer back but it actually took 4 days. Despite it taking longer then expected, IResQ did a great job of getting me a new hard drive and saving a lot of the files on my old one. It is great to have a local company that works on Apple products. IresQ is recommended nationally by all the Apple stores and I recommend them for any Mac repairs you may have. Well, now that I am back up-and-running I look forward to getting you some amazing Maui photos to look at. I also want to keep you posted on the upcoming workshop: Beyond The Basics, March 1-2. We already have people signed up. It's going to be an awesome time! Register here to join us. Feels good to be bloggin again!

Her Life Magazine Breakfast

My good friend, Sara Tafoya, referred me to shoot a breakfast for Her Life Magazine. Lindsay Aydelotte is the publisher of Her Life. She is an exciting woman and with only four issues out this Her Life Magazine is already being proudly accepted in Kansas City. The magazine is a window into the lives of today's women. I was glad to shoot this event and network with many of the accomplished women in the Kansas City community. The breakfast was at the Portfolio Kitchen and Home. This place had great ambiance and they sell the newest in interior design. Along with great atmospere, they served up omlettes, pastries and fresh fruit from volunteer vendors. I look forward to see the success of Her Life Magazine in the future!

More on Maui and Celebrating my Birthday in KC

I am having a great time going through all the photos from Maui. I can't share them all with you yet cause there is just so many but here is another one of my favorites...

I have been super busy since I have returned. I celebrated my birthday here in Kansas City with all my friends on Friday night. I rode a mechanical bull and there is a video of it that may find its way onto this blog. We went to Dave and Busters to play games afterwards and I was dominating basketball until my friend Deb stepped up and humbled me with her mad shooting skills. It was a great time! It was so cool to see the diverse group of friends that came together to celebrate with me. I have been extremely blessed to have so many great people in my life. Thank you all for coming out and being part of my life!

Lunch with Paul Rogers

Yesterday I had lunch with Paul Rogers. Paul is an amazing videographer that is now working for David Jay. He still lives here in Kansas City so we were able to get together to talk shop. Paul really takes video to another level. He was showing me some of his clips and unlike the traditional wedding video there is never a slow or dull moment in his work. It was so funny to hear him talk about having dinner and shooting video at a wedding with some of the amazing people in our industry such as Gary Fong, Becker, Mike Colon, Jessica Claire and others without even knowing who they were until after the fact. Paul is a very real and humble guy surrounded by great company and I can't wait to see more of his work. I was glad to finally connect with him and hear his story. Look for Paul's work on David Jay's Freedom Club website.

Back from Maui

I am officially back from Hawaii. I had an amazing time in Maui and can't wait to show you all the breath-taking wedding photos of JD and Jacki. They are the greatest couple and I love them to death for all that they provided me with while I was there. Their daughter Maddi is so adorable and fun too. I have over 2000 images to go through but only the best make it on my blog so stay tuned!

I missed my last flight home and had to stay an additional 5 days. It was such a bummer because I had nothing to do but to go to the beach and play in the ocean all day LOL.

These were taken with an underwater disposable camera...

How crazy is this...

I found this note on my door in Maui when I returned from the airport after I missed my flight home. Maddi didn't even know that I had missed my flight. I think she prayed for God to make me miss my flight so I could stay longer. If so, it worked and it was worth it. She is so precious and I just fell in love with her when I was there. She started calling my Uncle Kevin. Gotta love it!

Maddi...
