Julian's Senior Portraits

I did some fashion photos for Diana Hickson a couple years ago and she contacted me last week to take a few shots of her son, Julian, who is graduating this year. She just wanted a couple of good portrait photos because Julian wasn't able to make it for the photos at school. Julian is a sharp looking guy and we got some great shots of him in his suit. He is off to Fort Scott Community College on a football scholarship. I wish you the best in the future Julian!

Jake and Jamie's Reception 3.12.08

Jake and Jamie got married a month ago in Hawaii. They had their reception this past Saturday at the Sylvester Powell Community Center in Mission, Kansas. I had a great time with them! Jake and Jamie have become my good friends over the last year. We hangout with the same friends and we have done everything to playing volleyball, going to Royals games and spending the weekend at the lake together. I was excited to shoot their reception. After all the photos were taken for the night I put my camera away and made a fool of myself on the dance floor:)

This is my attempt at using textures...

I love finding creative ways to shoot the rings...

Congratulations Jake and Jamie!

'BEYOND Photoshop' : LIMITED SEATING AVAILABLE!

Jackson Jordan 3.29.08

On March 29th at 1:00 in the morning my friend and great photographer, John Jordan, became the proud father of a baby boy. Jackson Jordan was born at Shawnee Mission Medical Center! John and Dawn have become such great friends to me over the last couple years. It was exciting for them to call me up to the hospital to take some of the first photos of Jackson. He looks just like his daddy! They are all three home now and doing well (despite the lack of sleep at night:) Jackson is their first child and a true blessing from God. John and Dawn will be great parents. Congratulations to the two of you!

I love this shot! John got a company with the name Jackson to give him a few of their shirts before his boy was born cause they had already picked the name out for the baby. How cool is that?

How scary is this? I love kids but you can tell I am not a daddy and I don't hold newborns everyday:)

Sara and Josh 3.29.08

My friend Sara got married this last Saturday in Kansas City. Sara is an amazing photographer herself and we had a lot of fun doing her bridal photos a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't the official photographer of her wedding but I snapped a few shots while I was there. It is hard to be at a wedding and not want to just shoot all the time. Especially when the bride and location are so beautiful. Sara and Josh had their wedding at the Foundation in West Bottoms. It was very contemporary, nothing traditional about it. The building was very industrial with an old warehouse feel to it but it was nicely decorated with lights and tapestry. I ran a slideshow of Sara's bridal shots during the reception. I had a great time at the wedding with my friend Rachel and even got a little crazy on the dance floor. Sara's friend Laura was the official photographer of the wedding but there were about five of us there shooting. I was very low-key and just snapped a few shots. I really wanted to just enjoy the wedding celebration. Here are a few shots from Sara's wedding. They are in Mexico on their honeymoon right now. Congratulations Sara and Josh Howell!
