E-Session Teaser

Sometimes you just walk into a photo opportunity that feels like God put it there just for you to have. That was the case with this shot. I just love it and had to share it with you all!

There is more to come... I am working on a couple of e-sessions and weddings. Can't wait to share them all with you!

Heather & Domanic E-Session 6.1.08

I did an e-session with Heather and Domanic a couple weeks ago. They are so much fun to work with! When I first met with Heather and Domanic there was an instant connection. We stayed well after the consultation just chatting about anything and everything but photography. Heather is beautiful and Domanic is so cool with all of his ink. I am so excited to shoot their wedding in November.

We went to the Country Club Plaza and Loose Park to shoot their engagement photos. We were feeling a little crazy when we got to Loose Park and decided to do some shots in the fountain. As you will see in photo below, it is prohibited to get into the fountain. Now I am going to give you the best advice that I can give anyone as a photographer: "It is easier to ask for forgiveness then it is to ask for permission!" I just love breaking the rules! Congratulations Heather and Domanic!

This is my favorite...

Lan & Michael Ho 6.8.08

First, I want to apologize for my blog neglect! I am so mad at myself for not being able to keep you all updated. I have some beautiful weddings that I really want to share with you and I will have them up soon.

Speaking of beautiful weddings, this was one of the most beautiful weddings I have shot. I just love Vietnamese weddings! I have shot a few of them now with my friend Eric of Ericson Photography Studios. He asked me to come down to Wichita to shoot Lan and Michael's wedding last weekend. I am so glad I did. The Vietnamese have a lot of tradition with their weddings. They start off with the groom and his groomsmen entering the brides house and exchanging gifts with the bridesmaids. The gifts are red tins filled with vegetables and foods for the feast followed by the traditional roasted pig. It is exciting to watch the whole ceremony. At the brides house the groom will see his bride for the first time and they do a ceremony with exchanging of gifts and introducing the families. Then later in the day they have a traditional wedding ceremony at the church followed by a 5 hour reception. The wedding goes all day but I love it!

Lan and Michael were a beautiful couple. Lan looked stunning in her many dresses. Yes, she changed about 5 times throughout the day. She also got up at 4am to do her hair and they were both still going strong at 8pm. I got some amazing shots of them together. They had the ceremony and the reception at the beautiful Botanica Gardens in Wichita. Congratulations Lan and Michael! These are some of my favorite shots from the day...

I could live off emails like this!

Jolee is my new favorite fan! I just love receiving encouraging emails and knowing that my work as a photographer can make someone's day. I am definitely not a hero firefighter or police office but after receiving an email like this I sure do feel like one. Thanks so much Jolee! You're the best!

OMG KEVIN - I LOOOOVVVEEEEEEE them!!!!!! You ROCK!!!! I am beaming from ear to ear...I think my fav is the one of Justin throwing Hunter in the air! I could wallpaper my house with it! LOL! I love the one of Hunter and his stick swords...and the one close-up of him...oh..and the family one on the bridge is fabulous too!! Oh my goodness...I am going to have such a hard time deciding. You did such a fabulous job (as I knew you would). I finally have the family portraits I have longed for!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!! I so excited to see the rest of them. These have totally made my day (and after being up most the night w/ a sick son I needed a pick-me-up). =)

Now...off to look at your blog again and again and again!! =)

Look at my last blog post for some photos from my family session with Jolee. Her family is so beautiful making it hard to get a bad shot so I can't take all the credit!
