Nicole & Andrew 9.13.08

I shot an amazing wedding this weekend in Wichita. Nicole and Andrew were an extremely fun 'no holds barred' couple which made for some spectacular wedding photos. They had their wedding in the beautiful Scottish Rite Center in downtown Wichita. This building is three stories of historical beauty! We had such a great time shooting photos in there before the ceremony and God even turned off the rain for us to go outside and shoot for awhile. Thanks Eric for having me shoot this wedding with you. Congratulations Nicole and Andrew!

Amanda & Eric 8.21.08

I went down to Wichita to shoot a couple weddings with my friend Eric this last weekend. Amanda and Eric had their wedding on Thursday and they are an amazing couple. I really enjoyed them so much! I love it when couples meet before the wedding and give time to go and shoot photos around the city. It always allows for amazing photos of the couple and the wedding party not to mention a great time of hanging out. Which is what a wedding should be about, right? Amanda and Eric were just that couple. We went to some rustic places and Amanda and Eric didn't hesitate to climb on a rusty staircase or a concrete ledge to get the great shots. Below are some of the awesome images that we were able to capture. NOTE: No wedding dresses nor tuxes were damaged during this shoot!

Lan & Michael Ho 6.8.08

First, I want to apologize for my blog neglect! I am so mad at myself for not being able to keep you all updated. I have some beautiful weddings that I really want to share with you and I will have them up soon.

Speaking of beautiful weddings, this was one of the most beautiful weddings I have shot. I just love Vietnamese weddings! I have shot a few of them now with my friend Eric of Ericson Photography Studios. He asked me to come down to Wichita to shoot Lan and Michael's wedding last weekend. I am so glad I did. The Vietnamese have a lot of tradition with their weddings. They start off with the groom and his groomsmen entering the brides house and exchanging gifts with the bridesmaids. The gifts are red tins filled with vegetables and foods for the feast followed by the traditional roasted pig. It is exciting to watch the whole ceremony. At the brides house the groom will see his bride for the first time and they do a ceremony with exchanging of gifts and introducing the families. Then later in the day they have a traditional wedding ceremony at the church followed by a 5 hour reception. The wedding goes all day but I love it!

Lan and Michael were a beautiful couple. Lan looked stunning in her many dresses. Yes, she changed about 5 times throughout the day. She also got up at 4am to do her hair and they were both still going strong at 8pm. I got some amazing shots of them together. They had the ceremony and the reception at the beautiful Botanica Gardens in Wichita. Congratulations Lan and Michael! These are some of my favorite shots from the day...

More on the Fashion Shoot with Ericson Studio

This post is the follow-up to the last post when I went to Wichita to do a fashion promo shoot with my friend Eric Nguyen of Ericson Studio. Eric has a sweet studio on Douglas Street in Wichita with two large display windows. I was down there for Wichita River Festival Weekend when he did this fashion promo and Douglas was the main strip for a lot of people traffic during the River Fest. Eric had over ten models show up at his studio and gave them all full hair and make-up. Then for two hours they posed in the store front windows as mannequins. The reaction was incredible! Check out a couple of the photos from the event...

Fashion Photography with Ericson Studios

I had an awesome shooting experience with my friend Eric in Wichita. He runs Ericson Studio and is probably the best photographer in Wichita. He did a fashion promo for his studio and I was so glad to be down there that weekend and be part of it. I will share more photos from this shoot later but just had to share these with you. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend! I am off to Wichita again (this time for a wedding).

Neelie & Dominic E-Session 5.11.08

I have known Neelie since she was a little girl. I have been friends with her older brother since high school. It seems like yesterday that her brother and I were attempting to give her a swirly in the bathroom toilet. It is crazy to think that she is getting married now. I am getting so old LOL! I was super excited when Neelie asked me to shoot her wedding this October. She is so beautiful and looks just like her mother. She also found a great guy, Dominic, to marry. I can't wait for the wedding.

We had a beautiful Mother's Day morning in Wichita to shoot their engagement photos. We were in Wichita, Kansas and they have a historic downtown area that is known as 'Old Town'. This area is filled with beautiful brick buildings and has an old rustic feel with red brick paved alleyways. We had a blast shooting together. They are both so much fun! I had only met Dominic one other time and he is a great guy that was easy to get good shots of. The most fun of the whole shoot was watching Dominic climb the fire escape to get the stairs down so we could get some photos on it. They all turned out so great too! Congratulations Neelie and Dominic on your engagement! Here is a slideshow from the shoot...

Unto us a Savior is born... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I am off to WIchita to celebrate Christmas with my family. I wanted to leave an encouraging post before I get on the road. I hope you all have a blessed Christmas filled with good times with family and friends. Receiving gifts is great but serving others is ten times more enjoyable. Do something special for someone this Christmas Day! Remember... "Christ came to serve, not to be served, and gave His life as a ransom for many." Merry Christmas! (I will share pictures from my Christmas in a couple days)

Nature photos

Well it is becoming winter now and the wedding season is slowing down. Here are some photos I took a few weeks ago at Botanica Gardens in Wichita, Kansas. It was a beautiful day when I took these and I hope they help you forget about the cold weather outside. Please leave comments for me. I love to hear from everyone!

Slideshow with my brother and family

Here is a slideshow of the family portraits I did for my brother and his family a couple of weeks ago at the Indian Center in Wichita. It was fun trying to get expressions out of my brother. Especially when I had him look into his wife's (Lori) eyes. They both just started laughing. I still managed to get some great photos of them together. My nephew, Colby, refused to look at anyone in the eyes but he was all about me taking his photo when he was climbing the rocks. Then Candace, my neice, got her diva poses on. I taught her how to use my camera and she took a couple of great shots of me and my brother together. We haven't had our photo taking together for awhile. I had a great time hanging out with my family and we got some great shots. Enjoy the slideshow...

Did you know I am also a Graphic Designer

Some people don't know this but before I was a photographer I was a Graphic Designer. I got my BA in Graphic Design from Kansas State University. I then worked for 2 years at Pine Cove Christian Camps in Tyler, Texas as the Graphics Media Artist before I realized my true passion for photography. That led me to Brooks Institute of Photography and now back to Kansas. I am so glad to have design as my background but being a professional photographer is the greatest career I could ever have. Above is a promo piece that I put together for my business to handout to vendors and clients. I put up a link to my graphic design work and you can see more of it by clicking here--> Kevin Keith Graphic Design Portfolio.

Busy weekend... I will be in Wichita tomorrow to photograph a golf tournament and then back up to KC to shoot Stephanie and Nathan's wedding. This weekend is also the Plaza Art Fair so I will be going there on Sunday. I look forward to sharing with you all. Have a blessed weekend. I will try to post the wedding photos from last weekend before I leave town.
