Nicole & Andrew 9.13.08

I shot an amazing wedding this weekend in Wichita. Nicole and Andrew were an extremely fun 'no holds barred' couple which made for some spectacular wedding photos. They had their wedding in the beautiful Scottish Rite Center in downtown Wichita. This building is three stories of historical beauty! We had such a great time shooting photos in there before the ceremony and God even turned off the rain for us to go outside and shoot for awhile. Thanks Eric for having me shoot this wedding with you. Congratulations Nicole and Andrew!

The Cons...

I was inspired by one of my favorite photographers, Jasmine Star, to start doing collage panels of all the wedding details. I think it gives you an overall feel for the atmosphere at the wedding and the reception when you see all of these detail shots together...

Sara and Josh 3.29.08

My friend Sara got married this last Saturday in Kansas City. Sara is an amazing photographer herself and we had a lot of fun doing her bridal photos a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't the official photographer of her wedding but I snapped a few shots while I was there. It is hard to be at a wedding and not want to just shoot all the time. Especially when the bride and location are so beautiful. Sara and Josh had their wedding at the Foundation in West Bottoms. It was very contemporary, nothing traditional about it. The building was very industrial with an old warehouse feel to it but it was nicely decorated with lights and tapestry. I ran a slideshow of Sara's bridal shots during the reception. I had a great time at the wedding with my friend Rachel and even got a little crazy on the dance floor. Sara's friend Laura was the official photographer of the wedding but there were about five of us there shooting. I was very low-key and just snapped a few shots. I really wanted to just enjoy the wedding celebration. Here are a few shots from Sara's wedding. They are in Mexico on their honeymoon right now. Congratulations Sara and Josh Howell!

Back from Maui

I am officially back from Hawaii. I had an amazing time in Maui and can't wait to show you all the breath-taking wedding photos of JD and Jacki. They are the greatest couple and I love them to death for all that they provided me with while I was there. Their daughter Maddi is so adorable and fun too. I have over 2000 images to go through but only the best make it on my blog so stay tuned!
I missed my last flight home and had to stay an additional 5 days. It was such a bummer because I had nothing to do but to go to the beach and play in the ocean all day LOL.
These were taken with an underwater disposable camera...

How crazy is this...

I found this note on my door in Maui when I returned from the airport after I missed my flight home. Maddi didn't even know that I had missed my flight. I think she prayed for God to make me miss my flight so I could stay longer. If so, it worked and it was worth it. She is so precious and I just fell in love with her when I was there. She started calling my Uncle Kevin. Gotta love it!

New Years in Maui

I thought I was done shooting weddings for the year but it looks like I will have one more. My friend JD and his fiance, Jackie, are flying me to Maui to shoot their New Year's Eve Wedding. I am so excited! What a great time to get away from this cold Midwest weather too. Stay tuned through the New Year to see some amazing photos of their wedding. They are such a beautiful couple! Thanks JD and Jackie. I look forward to photographing your wedding and surfing into the New Year!

Liz and Tom 11.10.07
We did a 'first glance' at the front of the church where Liz came down the isle to see Tom, her husband-to-be, for the first time. They were so great together and you could see them both glow after they turned to see each other for the first time that day.
The reception was at The Clubhouse on Baltimore in downtown Kansas City. It's a beautifully elegant building. We were able to go out on one of the balconies and get some great shots with the Kansas City skyline in the background. The wedding was short but we got tons of great photos. Liz, Tom and both mothers were very nice and complimented me even though I was a last minute photographer at their wedding. Thank you all. Congratulations Liz and Tom!

Stephanie and Nathan 9.22.07

Stephanie and Nathan were a beautiful couple. Stephanie called me up a week before their wedding and told me that their photographer had canceled on them. Did that photographer miss out or what? We had a great time and got some amazing photos. I love the shots of them together. They look like just fell in love with each other and that is how it should be!
The wedding and reception were at the Bacchanalia in Overland Park. A really cool place that is small but elegant. Eric is the owner and he let me play the slideshow on all of his televisions. It turned out great. Congratulations Stephanie and Nathan!

Did you know I am also a Graphic Designer

Some people don't know this but before I was a photographer I was a Graphic Designer. I got my BA in Graphic Design from Kansas State University. I then worked for 2 years at Pine Cove Christian Camps in Tyler, Texas as the Graphics Media Artist before I realized my true passion for photography. That led me to Brooks Institute of Photography and now back to Kansas. I am so glad to have design as my background but being a professional photographer is the greatest career I could ever have. Above is a promo piece that I put together for my business to handout to vendors and clients. I put up a link to my graphic design work and you can see more of it by clicking here--> Kevin Keith Graphic Design Portfolio.
Busy weekend... I will be in Wichita tomorrow to photograph a golf tournament and then back up to KC to shoot Stephanie and Nathan's wedding. This weekend is also the Plaza Art Fair so I will be going there on Sunday. I look forward to sharing with you all. Have a blessed weekend. I will try to post the wedding photos from last weekend before I leave town.

Stephanie and Nathan

I met with Stephanie and Nathan last Sunday and I will be shooting their wedding this Saturday in Overland Park, Kansas. That's right, this Saturday... Stephanie called me last week and her photographer had canceled on her less then two weeks before her wedding. How stressful would that be? Fortunately for Stephanie and Nathan I had that date open. We met briefly on Sunday and it was great. They are so laid-back and we all connected well with each other. They have three kids so I am sure that looking for a photographer last minute was not something they were wanting to add to their busy schedule. I am glad that I was able to come through for them. Stay tuned for the wedding photos!

Longview Mansion and some self-portraits

Yesterday I went out to Longview Mansion to scout the location for a wedding I am shooting on Aug. 4th. I met Marsha, the manager, and she is a super nice lady that showed me around the place. Longview Mansion is a photographers haven. It is so beautiful with brilliant lighting in so many rooms. I can't wait to shoot there. Here are some of the photos of the interior rooms.

There is also a stone colonnade down by the water that is so rustic and perfect for some great bridal shots. I took the time to take a few self-portraits while I was down there. I didn't have my tripod so I got creative with setting my camera on the ground and elevating my lens with a piece of stone. This was after I got bored of shooting my mug so close-up by holding the camera out in front of me. Here is a couple of my favorites.

Deseri and Luis Wedding : Going to Chicago
I wanted to share some photos from Deseri and Luis' Wedding that I shot on April 21st in Sugar Creek, Missouri. It was an outdoor wedding and I really enjoyed shooting it. Deseri and Luis met about a year ago and they love to go salsa dancing. It was fun to see them, and all their guests, on the dance floor. I went to college with Deseri so I knew a lot of her friends at the wedding. It was great to catch up with people that I hadn't seen in a long while. Here are some of my favorite photos from the wedding. Have a great weekend!
